Experience the 15th Kite Festival in San Vito Lo Capo
San Vito Lo Capo will return to being the most colorful beach in Italy, from 22 to 26 May, with the 15th edition of the International Kite Festival.
An atmosphere of joy and creativity will fill the streets of the seaside village for seven days and will involve adults and children with its messages of peace, freedom and eco-sustainability.
The event, born in 2009, is a real event where kite flyers from all over the world perform with their extraordinary kites, leaving everyone with their noses in the air!
In addition to workshops for children, there will also be tastings, entertainment and shows.
Every day you can admire fantastic installations that move with the wind while the kids can have fun with group games or dedicate themselves to creating cute kites, living the values of friendship and tolerance.
The beach of San Vito Lo Capo will become a true open-air "kite museum".
A moment of healthy fun for the little ones, but also of relaxation for the adults who will be able to enjoy the wonderful beach of San Vito Lo Capo immersed in spring colours, its crystal clear sea and its cuisine with unmistakable flavours.
The acrobatic kites begin their flight in the morning and give way in the evening to night flights, which are particularly evocative, with their play of lights and sounds.
During the usual special ceremony on May 23, the Capaci massacre will be commemorated with the display of kites dedicated to judge Giovanni Falcone, magistrate Francesca Morvillo and their escort, made up of Rocco Dicillo, Antonio Montinaro and Vito Schifani. There will also be white kites and other symbolic commemorations for the victims of the mafia, including the kite portraying Barbara Rizzo and her twins Giuseppe and Salvatore Asta, victims of the 1985 Pizzolungo massacre.
In conjunction with the Festival, from 24 to 26 May, the Fly-Inn (a spectacular gathering dedicated to sports aviation) will come to life in Makari-Baia Santa Margherita, offering a myriad of activities including model aircraft, drones, paragliding and hang-gliding. The event will be enlivened by the presence of prestigious helicopters belonging to the State Police and the Carabinieri, which will be exhibited in an exclusive exhibition. Prepare to be amazed by the aerial acrobatics and immerse yourself completely in the magic of air sports!
