An extraordinary mix of simplicity and taste

The sandwich par excellence, the prototype of the sandwich, pane cunzato, or seasoned bread, is certainly the father of all sandwiches.
There is no traveler who has not appreciated this triumph of simplicity.

Ingredients for 4 people

  • 1 Kg Loaf of bread
  • 200 g Cherry tomatoes
  • 200 g Primo sale cheese
  • 2 Anchovies

Process


Pane cunzato

The secret of a good cunzato bread depends on the goodness of its ingredients... ripe tomatoes, salt from the Trapani salt pans, Sicilian oil, good quality anchovies and fresh cheese.

Use the bread while it is still warm, or heat it in a pan or in the oven for a few minutes, then divide it in half and season it with fragrant oregano and plenty of extra virgin olive oil.
Comp

boil with slices of tomatoes and cheese, lastly add the anchovies. Close the bread and serve while still hot.
