Riserva dello Zingaro: an experience between nature and turquoise reflections

Paradise just a few minutes from San Vito Lo Capo

Walk along the coastal path and follow it to the first small Museum dedicated to Maritime Activities. (The museum is currently closed)
This jewel that the forestry has dedicated to the various fishing techniques is very interesting, in fact, together with some beautiful photos, you can see the model of a tuna fishery that helps to understand how the net system for tuna fishing worked. It is really worth stopping for a short visit to discover this very ancient technique.
Continuing along the coastal path, among bushes of fragrant rosemary and dwarf palms, you will quickly reach Cala dell'Uzzo.

This enchanting corner of the coast will appear suddenly and you will be enchanted by its changing blue...

The silence will make you appreciate the enchanting landscape, irresistible a bath out of season. We recommend you go up to the Grotta dell'Uzzo, to admire up close all the majesty of this cave dating back to the Paleolithic where traces of human presence have been found. Many finds are in the Salinas Museum in Palermo.

Continue your walk to the South entrance (calculate the return time) or return to the parking lot by taking the half-coast path. You will come across an old peasant house transformed into a charming museum, where the past is told through everyday objects.

It's time to go back home but not without first stopping at the first cove that had already struck you for its beauty: Tonnarella dell'Uzzo.

Going down the stone steps, adorned with tufts of dwarf palms and colorful flowers, you can admire one of the most fascinating views of the reserve. A quick swim in this paradise and you will find yourself among small white fish surrounded by enchanting rock walls…

Trekking in the Reserve

The sun is quickly setting behind the mountains. It's time to go back up.
You always leave a little bit of your heart in this Eden far from the chaos...and you already think about when you can return...to admire all its beauty again.

Helpful tips: hiking boots are ideal but tennis shoes are also fine, water is a must and maybe a hat on very hot days.
