Discovering the territory by bike is a way to truly experience it

The Monte Cofano cycling park in Custonaci , adjacent to the reserve of the same name, invites you to get in the saddle and ride along different roads, paths and landscapes, with routes suitable for various levels of experience.

A few km from San Vito Lo Capo, in one of the most beautiful areas of Trapani, the cycling park offers three different itineraries for all bicycle lovers. Three proposals aimed at those who want to take a simple walk to those who want to commit with their MTB.

The departure is from Cornino Bay , with clear water and the coast that accompanies the first kilometers on the cycle path. From the sea you go up towards the center of the town, touching the Pozzo della Madonna and the Baglio Cofano.

Pedaling you come across the Grotta Mangiapane , a site that preserves traces of the past, and the Cerriolo Park, a green area that interrupts the rocky landscape. The marble quarries show the shapes dug by the mining activity, creating particular scenarios.

The route goes all the way to the Monte Sparagio grove. Here nature becomes thicker and the panorama opens up onto wide views of the territory. The surface alternates asphalt and dirt, making it suitable for gravel and mountain bikes. Many sections coincide with the route of the Granfondo Città di Custonaci.

The park was born from an idea of the Asd Cofano Bikers and with the patronage of the Municipality of Custonaci

The park is organized into three itineraries, each with a different color with three levels of difficulty.

Green

About 23 km. Starting from Cornino along the cycle path by the sea, you go up to the historic center passing by the Pozzo della Madonna, you reach Baglio Cofano and you return towards Baglio Messina. From there you go down to the sea crossing Parco Cerriolo and the Grotta Mangiapane.

Orange

About 34 km. Same start as the green until Baglio Messina, then turn left going up towards Monte Sparagio. At the crossroads take the right to enter the marble quarries area. After the long descent you return to the village and return to Cornino.

Red

About 41.5 km. More difficult, designed only for MTB. Follow the orange path to the fork, then turn left and go up to Bosco Giacalamaro. Cross the forest and return with a long descent that includes a technical single track, always with a view of the sea until the return to Cornino.
