A clear trend emerges: Italians prefer domestic tourism, especially coastal resorts.

San Vito Lo Capo takes first place . It's popular for its white sand, clean sea, and proximity to the Zingaro Nature Reserve. The average price for accommodation is around €208 per night.
In second place is San Teodoro, in Sardinia , with an average price of €275 per night. Also on the podium is Marina di Ragusa, in Sicily , with an average stay of €138 per night.
Other destinations in the top 5
In 4th place Marina di Camerota (Campania) – €199 per night and in 5th place, Porto Cesareo (Puglia) – €195 per night
Sicily stands out for the number of localities
The Sicily region leads the ranking with 16 locations in the top 50, including San Vito Lo Capo, Marina di Ragusa and Palermo . Followed by Puglia (12 destinations), Campania (6) and Lazio (5). Sardinia is present with San Teodoro, Olbia and Alghero.
A significant fact : no foreign destinations in the top 50 for 2025, unlike in 2024.
San Vito Lo Capo remains, therefore, the favorite destination for Italians for the mid-August 2025 long weekend. The mix of beautiful sea, nature, balanced costs and Italian authenticity makes it irresistible.
