Salemi, city of breads

Listed on the official website of the most beautiful villages in Italy , Salemi is particularly famous for the Pani di San Giuseppe , real jewels created to decorate the altars prepared for March 19th.

Salemi fascinates visitors with its Arab-medieval urban layout. The narrow streets climb up to the majestic and elegant Norman-Swabian Castle (12th century) while its alleys tell us about a past rich in history and traditions.

Today the Castle, restored in 2010, has become a museum, conference and concert venue.
With a single ticket you can also visit the 4 museums located in the former Jesuit College, the Mafia Museum and the Landscape Museum, born from an idea by Vittorio Sgarbi, the Museum of the Risorgimento and the Museum of Sacred Art.

Gibellina, Open Air Museum

The majestic Stella di Consagra stands at the entrance to the town of Gibellina Nuova . A sign of rebirth for this town and for the entire Valle del Belìce , which the 1968 earthquake swept away in one night.
