We start with Barbara Casini and Jobim

Opening the festival on Tuesday, September 1st , will be Barbara Casini with her project Jobim 100 Anos . The singer and guitarist will be accompanied by Alessandro Lanzoni on piano, Ares Tavolazzi on bass, and Jorge Rossy on drums.

The concert is dedicated to Antonio Carlos Jobim , one of the great protagonists of Brazilian music, in view of the centenary of his birth in January 2027. The repertoire combines the great classics with lesser-known songs, highlighting the richness of Jobim's production beyond the confines of bossa nova.

Dario Carnovale's piano trio

The second evening, Wednesday 2 September , will be entrusted to the Dario Carnovale Trio , composed of Dario Carnovale on piano, Gabrio Bevilacqua on double bass and Gaetano Presti on drums.

The piano trio, a classic formation in the history of jazz, is the format chosen by Carnovale to develop an intimate and personal language, while maintaining a constant reference to tradition. The repertoire includes original pieces by the pianist and reinterpretations of compositions from the American songbook.

Francesco Cafiso Special Quartet

Thursday 3 September will be the turn of the Francesco Cafiso Special Quartet , one of the highlights of the festival.

Sicilian saxophonist Francesco Cafiso , born in Vittoria in 1989, will take the stage together with Alessandro Lanzoni on piano, Dario Deidda on bass and Jorge Rossy on drums.

Cafiso established himself on the international scene at a very young age and has consolidated his career as a performer and composer over the years. The quartet brings together musicians with whom he has a long-standing relationship and offers a blend of experience, improvisation, and musical research.

Eddie Gomez Italian Trio

The program continues on Friday, September 4th with the Eddie Gomez Italian Trio . Eddie Gomez, a historic figure in international jazz, will be the star on double bass, joined by Salvatore Bonafede on piano and Joe Santoro on drums.

Gomez collaborated extensively with the famous Bill Evans Trio from 1966 to 1977, appearing on numerous important recordings by the pianist. Throughout his career, he has also worked with artists such as Chick Corea, Jack DeJohnette, and Steps Ahead.

Jerusa Barros closes the festival

Closing the 2026 edition on Saturday 5 September will be the Jerusa Barros Band .

The singer, born in Cape Verde and now Sicilian by adoption, brings to the stage a project that blends African sounds, Portuguese-speaking music, and Mediterranean culture . She will be joined by Fabrizio Malerba on guitar, Chris Obei on bass, Manfredi Crocivera on drums, and Federico Mordino on percussion.

A finale characterized by rhythms and contaminations that completes a program built around different musical languages, united by the centrality of improvisation and the encounter between cultures.

The San Vito Jazz 2026 program

The San Vito Jazz Festival offers five consecutive evenings in the heart of San Vito Lo Capo, with a program that alternates big names in jazz, established musicians, and original projects.

All concerts are scheduled at 9.30 pm in the Garden of Palazzo La Porta , from 1 to 5 September 2026.
