Even short films and animated films focus on human rights and environmental protection, telling stories of wars, migrations, identities, family relationships, discrimination, personal rebirth and the relationship between man and nature with different languages and sensibilities.

Two juries will award the prizes: the documentary juries will be composed of Petra Maria Holzer Özgüven , Daniele Incalcaterra, and Ester Pantano, while Sino Caracappa, Alessia D'Amico, and Milena Fiore will evaluate short films and animations. The winner of the Fiction section will be chosen by the public.

The eighteenth edition will open on July 13th with "Rights between Music and Words," an event featuring music by ARYA and a presentation by Francesca Corbo , communications director for Amnesty International , on the stage in the garden of Palazzo La Porta. All festival events, including screenings, panels, book presentations, and literary aperitifs, will be free to attend.

The screenings will take place between the garden of Palazzo La Porta and the Amphitheatre in Via Faro , while the Municipal Theatre will host the first edition of the Summer School organised with the Atelier Varan of Paris.

New additions include the special section "From Palestine," featuring a selection of short films that recount the plight of the Palestinian people after the war and the destruction of Gaza. Also on the program are the daily screenings "AAMOD 3 minuti di..." , dedicated to the memory of Italy, and "Ancora qui," a collection of testimonies from Lebanese women who recount life in a country scarred by conflict.

On July 16th, Arpa Sicilia will host a panel on environmental education, during which the Municipality of San Vito Lo Capo will receive the "Four Sails" award from Legambiente and the Italian Touring Club. On July 18th, Greenpeace will organize the meeting "Adding Beauty to Stop the Strait Bridge," dedicated to the environmental issues related to the project.

On the opening day, the permanent photographic exhibition "Di questa terra - Of(f) this land" will also be presented, followed by the presentation of the book "Ciuridda" by Giankarim De Caro , published by Navarra.
