Three days to discover the gastronomy, traditions and typical features of the area
From 4 to 6 July 2025, “Terr'eMare – Castelluzzo between knowledge and flavours” returns , an event dedicated to local identity and cuisine, promoted by ASC Castelluzzo with the patronage of the Municipality of San Vito lo Capo.
Piazza Don Vito Barraco, in Castelluzzo, will be the center of activities: tastings, cooking shows, folk shows, cabaret, live music and DJ sets. Among the protagonists also talk shows and cultural meetings on San Vito lo Capo and Sicily.
The first special event will be dedicated to historic Sicilian grains , enhanced with show cooking on Trapani couscous and ricotta cassatelle , both sweet and in broth. All dishes will be prepared with native stone-ground grains, to preserve their original properties.
Wheat will be described as a symbol of community and peasant memory, linked to collective practices such as sowing, harvesting and bread-making. Recovering these varieties also means rebuilding social ties.
Another appointment with the Benedictine friars of San Martino delle Scale , known for the program “Le ricette del Convento” . They will present a volume with recipes and traditions of Sicilian monastic cuisine.
Finally, there is space for Frascino Officinali , an initiative born at the foot of Monte Cofano , which enhances local wild herbs by transforming them into essential oils and natural products.
“Terr'eMare” is a journey into the gastronomic and cultural memory of western Sicily, between ancient rites and authentic flavors.
